The Willow Tree Painting

Standard

A pink willow tree towers over a turtle, snake, bird, rabbit, and various flowers with the night sky overhead.

(Prints are available for purchase on Fine Art America.)

I first sketched it out with pencil, outlined with pen, and used several layers of colored pencil and watercolor paint. This was inspired by a scene on the river in the great horror film, “Night of the Hunter.”

Male Figure 2 Drawing – along with a short update

Standard

This was my first real attempt at drawing the male figure.

An update:

I know that I have not posted on here since St. Paddy’s Day. No, I was not off on a drunken adventure. I was moving instead. So there’s my short update :p I already have a few ideas in mind for new drawings, and now that I’m settled in I will post more regularly. Hopefully.

Blog post of 3/13/17 – another art sale & St. Paddy’s day art contest

Standard

Yesterday I had another person buy my scribble dachshund drawing on Etsy!

My weiners, errrr, I mean dachshunds seem to be very popular!

Anyways, I just finished reading “Essential Blake” by Stanley Kunitz, a collection of William Blake’s most important poems,  & have started reading “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde.

I’ve also been listening to a lot of Irish folk songs lately since St. Paddy’s day is coming up. I’ve always enjoyed the lyrics of old European folk songs. If you haven’t heard much of them, you will probably be surprised on how cleverly filthy many of them are. ha

Check out my art contest on Fine Art America for St. Paddy’s Day. I just had to do one being part Irish and enjoying a drink or two or five

The voting will begin in on Wednesday & anyone can vote!

Hope all my readers are doing okay! Cheers everyone!

Walking the Dog Drawing

I got the idea to do this drawing after seeing the artwork & listening to the soundtrack of one of my favorite films, “Mon Oncle (My Uncle)” by Jacques Tati.

If you haven’t seen it, here’s a link to a funny clip: Kitchen Scene

Anyways, I used a black colored pencil to outline the figures & blue & pink watercolor for color.

It’s available for purchase digital download on my Etsy shop & in print on Fine Art America.

I hope that you don’t think this drawing is too Pawful ^^ (I just couldn’t resist making a bad pun.)

My super late blog post – had another sale!

Standard

I know that it’s been a while since I’ve made a post on this blog – almost a month! I’ve just been so busy & haven’t had the motivation, but now that I’ve got things under control I can finally start ranting once again!

A few weeks ago I had another sale on Etsy of a dachshund drawing! 🙂

I’ve been having fun experimenting with watercolor & have made several pieces that I will upload eventually.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. Hopefully some of you out there have more to do on that day than me :p Here’s a corny joke about it:

Q. What is the difference between a calendar and you?
A. A calendar has a date on Valentine’s day.

hehe
